Usually, this happens in case the cardholder's account is incapable of accepting the refund.

The primary reasons for a declined refund are:

  • The card account does not support refunds (such as some prepaid cards)
  • The card account has been frozen due to fraudulent activity
  • The cardholder has closed the account
  • The cardholder has already disputed the transaction


A frozen account can be initiated by either the cardholder or the bank.


We suggest that the cardholder contact their card issuer to resolve the issue.
