Once a refund is initiated, your customer should see a pending transaction for the refunded amount in their bank account within 1-3 business days. This timeline depends on the card-issuing bank. Pending transaction notifications apply to payments made with Visa, American Express, or Mastercard, but not to other card networks.
Square typically takes 2-7 business days to process a refund. After the refund is processed and sent to the customer’s card-issuing bank, it can take 2-7 business days for it to post to the customer’s account. In total, it can take up to 4-14 business days for your customer to receive their refund.
