Apple Pay 3DS
Apple Pay supports 3DS, which means that when you use Apple Pay to make an online payment, the 3DS authentication process will be carried out by the card issuer or bank that issued the card linked to your Apple Pay account. This adds an extra layer of security to the transaction and helps prevent fraudulent activity.
To use Apple Pay with 3DS, you need to have a card that supports 3DS.
Apple Pay liability shift
Apple Pay supports liability shift for American Express, Discover, JCB, Mastercard, but not Visa.
Apple Pay customers must use Touch or Face ID to verify their transactions. Although this method is accepted by American Express, Discover, JCB, and Mastercard for liability shift, it does not meet the security standards set by VISA.
